BMW recreates the classic 328 Kamm Coupé.

BMW has a rich racing history and seventy years ago BMW won the famed Mille Miglia. The four cars that made up the team were hidden before World War II, but were lost after the end of the war. Three of the four cars were located but the fourth, the 328 Kamm Coupé, was lost in an accident in the 50s. Fast forward seventy years and BMW has recreated the lost car from photos using computer imaging (the car's plans had been lost) and what you see in these photos is the end result.  “We are very proud to be able to bring this car back into the public spotlight,” said Karl Baumer, Director of BMW Group Classic. “We’ve come up against some major technical challenges, had many discussions and racked up countless hours of research, but when you see the car for the first time you can sense the passion and expertise invested in the project by everyone involved – all those years ago and today.” The car was showcased at the 2010 Mille Miglia and will ultimately reside in BMW's museum. It's cool that BMW took the time to recreate an important piece of its history. Very cool indeed. Source.
