| Ford Interceptor, Lewis' commentary. Another entry in the retro muscle car, brutalist look. Like the Chrysler 300, in fact this Mustang based item looks like a ripoff of the 300 to me. Same vein as the Dodge Charger, the new big Jeep, all Dodge Pick up trucks, the Chevy mini-Suburban (admittedly retro), etc. etc. Great bull nose hulk with a drag coefficient of about 2.9. And the subtlety of a train wreck. Actually this Mustang sedan (and Ford SWEARS it is not going to build a 4-door Mustang... this is JUST a CONCEPT!! HONEST!! ), looks pretty good in a high-waistline, shallow window, chopped top sort of way. But why build it if you're not thinking of building it? It falls in the same vein as the Giugiaro re-designed Mustang - why bother building such a slight variation on an existing car. Just to show how "you would have done it if anyone had asked"? |
