Week 04, 2007 commencing on January 22nd.

Audi 100 Coupe S from yesteryear.
(Bart van Dijk)

Quiet Sunday, at least until I took the grandsons
to Brown University, where some madman
has woven an art installation out of saplings
and branches. The boys shattered the Sunday
afternoon silence in their glee at finding
this colossus awaiting their fantasies. Lewis.

Life in the rearview mirror.
AL... more than forty years ago.
When it was quiet on the roads and when
we could enjoy the rumbling growl
of the engine behind us, and the
beautiful forms when we stepped out.

"No Caïro is too far." (Guy)

"Skiing in Caïro, you're kidding." (Guy)

The moste characteristic side
of this beautiful Peugeot 404, from 1970!
Bart van Dijk's.

Switched on the lamps for the cozy effect. (Guy)

Sunday, too cool and sombre.
Homely cosiness in the afternoon.

Saturday evening.
"Had to drag myself away from the shops!"
(Guy)

"Capacity of a train." (Guy)

"Goes like a tram!" (Guy)

"Dontcha youch my wife or Mobylette!" (Guy)

"I've got everything mam said." (Guy)

"He called it a family-discount!" (Guy)

Evening patrol, parakeets from the Beatrix Park.
Exotic birds, but terrorists really, who chased away
the autochthonous sparrows.

Near hit.

"All sit then we're gone!"

Not only was it a pain to the eyes
but also a pain to the ears when it
accellerated away.

After their first streamlined cars
Tatra went down the hill designwise,
and even this version wasn't
the most hideous.

We're looking forward to a fine weekend!
You now may read more about street photographer
Joseph Holmes in the English language.

Finally the owner of the smaller appartment block
gave in and sold out. (Lewis)

At cocktail time at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
there was music and we had some drinks on the balcony
in the Great Hall. (Betty Dana)

"This weekend we'll be bombarded
with great opportunities." (Guy)

"On Friday we go home somewhat earlier." (Guy)

"Gimme a break."

"It's free!"

"A quick bite, nothing fancy."

"It takes longer than a while."

"First I've been waiting on the other side,
from where the tram goes to Amstelveen."

"Yeah, warm enough."

"Are they empty?"

Friday. Rain the whole day.

My Promised Land
In the Spring of 2002 Roger Sparks was traveling
with a virgin agenda when he landed
in America on the off chance, so it seemed at first.
But he had a plan, to meet Dr. Robert Ballard,
the discoverer of the Titanic.
