Week 5, 2006 commencing on January 30.

Grandson Daniel sent me some more photos of his friend Linsey Peel,
Linz for short, the modern way, and I must say I'm pretty proud.
And what's even making me glow with pride is that he said:
"Gramps, I am following you in your footsteps."
Shots were made with his brandnew digital Leica, together with
his gifted photo buddy Barry with a Nikon.
Here follows the url of Barry's website:

"When the barkeeper announced that if someone would give him a recipe for fruitcake
drinks were on the house. Whereupon Glen scribbled something on a piece of paper and climbed
to the roof up the drainpipe. It may sound nutty but nobody was drunk I assure you."

"Since I said A I had to say B and took the tram, but I should have taken a wild card."

"I should do something to my make-up since it's Sunday."

Last week a small, narrow car for invalids held up a long queue of shopping suv's
in the Amsterdam city centre. This car is of a different breed, the Tango electric commuter.
Will reach 60mph in four seconds and 150 mph in a few seconds more!
Some more pictures.

Travis Ruse, The Brooklyn Phlogger, on his way to work.

Going to Queens.

Bram, well known tv personality, specialized in lethal crime.

When the opportunity arises she also makes vertical detours.

While making a walk she always takes roundabouts a bit literally.

Van Gogh terrace where nobody wants to lounge.

Light tug comes to help out little sloop that can't sail under own steam.

Saturday morning. Too dark to make a bright peekture of the parakeet from behind the window.

Citroën C-Airlounge concept car displays new approach to aerodynamics and new studies
into interior design using new forms of lighting. The large double-chevron grille unvails
the face of the forthcoming C4 model.

University of Amsterdam behind the scenes.

President Chirac ceremonially showed off his new Citroën C6 to his friends.

It's a FIAT!
Fiat dropped a bombshell at Italy's biggest motoring event,
the Bologna Motor Show, by showing an off-road vehicle that looks to be aimed squarely
at the Hummer. The Oltre Fiat is a massive - its nearly five metres long and over two metres
tall with a two ton payload - go absolutely anywhere. Like the Hummer, it has military
credentials, being based on the Iveco Light Multi-role vehicle, the new military off-road
vehicle that embodies cutting edge technical features and has won the FCLV
(Future Command and Liaison Vehicle) contract for the British Army.

Daniel Edwards photographed his new friend Linz.
Odd but modern name, Linz for Linsey, and quite a girl.

The former boy wonder violinist Christiaan Bor, on his way to the Concert Hall.

It's probably safer to ride on the sidewalk.

Who's Hummer is this by the way?

Powerful looks, and she's very elegant. No handles in the rear doors. Like the 156.

Seat Cordoba. 180 horses, said Lorenz, while passing by. Look at them tires!

Spring's almost here, they're breaking open the streets to make the city look nicer.

Long detour in her flight from Geneva to London to see Cartier-Bresson in the Foam.
And it was worth it, said the English lady, an amateur photographer herself.

The editor on her way to the Cartier-Bresson Exhibition.

Winter without snow.

Forecast was slippery conditions.

Wednesday February 2nd. Misty first, hazy later.

Volvo nowadays offers a 4x4 purpose-built and ruggedised camper, for hostile environments.
Built on a Volvo 4x4 truck chassis, too heavy for lawns in city parks.

A new posh shopping tractor: Mercedes G. concept, designed by Jan Of.
Presented on last year's Pforzheim University Degree Show.
The aim of the project was to develop a successor to the current Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
The new vehicle should continue the character of the old model, as a classless vehicle
with very high levels of off-road capability.

Weekly PC Headstrong SUV Shopping Parade, headed by Guillaume Louis Ehrenfeldt.

The first time in the viewfinder, the Citroën C1, so cute and so spirited.

Time Out with the man who is responsible for the magazine Time Out, dedicated
to free time stuff, gadgets, journeys, means of transport and so on.

Another thee wheeled contraption, with an alternative backside.

Walking around with a shoot ready camera isn't enough to shoot all that's happening
behind your back like the accident that happened too far behind my back anyway;
a screaming slide over the asphalt that ended with a heavy thump and a boy's scream,
swearing probably at himself being so stupid to drive too fast in the bend.

"To be honest I thought 'What does she see in him that I don't see,' but don't ask me."

"It was the color that made me go for."

"We have a clear view again."

Thank God she's alive!

Freewheeling shopping hour.

"Smoke gets in our eyes."

My Promised Land
In the Spring of 2002 Roger Sparks was traveling
with a virgin agenda when he landed
in America on the off chance, so it seemed at first.
But he had a plan, to meet Dr. Robert Ballard,
the discoverer of the Titanic.
