We'll find out eventually when they are. Features, articles, sailing, Hans Arend de Wit |
Week 6, 2006 commencing on Ferbruary 6. |
![]() While we were watching "The Substitute" on BBC Barry Reed set out in the dark to do his own thing, make a photograph of the Tower Bridge, and he did it very well. Such depth! It's a magnificent picture. Is that blue streak a police car? |
|
![]() The PC Hooftstraat was crammed with the collest vehicles of which the three-wheeler is the most likable. Supposedly a C6 was spotted in the street, but not in this photo. |
![]() Before the lights were switched off Guillaume called to submit two photos he shot in the Museum Quarter, of which this dog-ear is the most surprising. |
![]() Sunday evening. 17:24:30. |
![]() "I reread the last line three times, but still got no clue!" |
![]() "See, still where I left him." |
![]() "As simple as that!" |
![]() "This way I'll get back on schedule." |
![]() Saturday, gray, sunless, cold and gloomy. In the parking lot of a sunny shopping mall in America a new truck's spotted like no other, which will surpass and overtake any vehicle in the P.C. Hooftstraat in Amsterdam, the International MXT 4x4 Pickup. The World's Largest Pickup Truck was created by taking the trailer off a prime hauler, doing a bit of remodelling here and there, and turning it into a humungous don't-mess-with-me three-dimensional personal statement - a pickup so big that the crew cab can seat five sumo wrestlers with ease provided one of them can drive. |
![]() Another photograph Guillaume Louis showed was this picture demonstrating the practicality of an electric chair in the narrow, crowded streets in our beautiful but hectic capital. |
![]() Later that evening Guillaume Ehrenfeldt dropped in with a photograph of the DS above, cause, as he said, it showed how this automobile should really be photographed. And I have to agree that this is a good way to visualize the impressive hood indeed. |
![]() At 17:29 all of a sudden the sun came down and flooded the sky, as you see. |
![]() Friday, earlier than expected, on the Zuidas, next to the ING HQ, sunset at 17:19. |
![]() Then we also shot this green elegantly surging dinosaur. |
![]() From the South we for some time tailed a pink elephant in search for a rear bumper. |
![]() It's not that simple to decide what to drink and or eat. |
![]() "Oh the dimples!" |
![]() "What do you mean by you want to make me laugh?" |
![]() Every time I pass her she surprises me with her elegant though strong and crisp lines. |
![]() "How much longer?" |
![]() "Take it easy, traffic is more of a nuisance than you are." |
![]() "Did I write you about the our madcap real estate man's twin Buick 1995 Roadmaster Estate Wagons? He drove us around Providence one afternoon looking at apartments, down streets narrower than the Buick, ghosting through stop signs... stopping in the middle of intersections to consider his next move... waving his arms around to make sure that, while the car might not be under perfect control, we were clearly directed to some feature of some building or statue or passing point of interest. He loved the cars, he said, though somewhere there is at least a Mercedes in his life. He tried to rent us a ballroom made into an apartment which would actually have been a lot of fun. But it was occupied until June... No problem, he said, moving twice in a year is no big deal. I'll find you a place to live until June, then when the college girl with all the money moves out, I'll get a couple men and we'll move you right in. Easy!" |
![]() Photo scoop! The cast in the drama New Tricks, currently being filmed in England. |
![]() New and improved, Peugeot 307. |
![]() "Souped up, like I thought." |
![]() Another hold-up, a mopeds check. |
![]() "Fons doesn't respond." |
![]() "Life begins at forty." |
![]() "No, he prefers being driven over walking through the park. Modern chap." |
![]() A wooden make-over indeed. |
![]() Kids in school, it's quiet in the street. |
![]() Four doors and a tarpaulin. |
