 The Eight-Speed Gear Box Debuts. No sooner had the seven-speed automatic gear box become de rigueur on luxury brands than Lexus introduced an eight-speed tranny harnessed to a 380-hp engine in its LS series. General Motors is expected any day now to announce that it is also developing an eight-gear box. And transmission maker ZF is developing an eight-cog box that will probably be used in BMWs, Fords, and Volkswagens. Long gone are the days of your daddy's four on the floor. This is all good news for car owners, unless you have to row your own. The wider span between high and low gears makes better use of engine power. The tighter ratio allows for better performance, smoother delivery of power, and better gas mileage. More. |
 Landrover? Laatste Santana's PS10 Commercial met enorme korting. Vorig jaar is bekendgemaakt dat het Spaanse merk Santana en Iveco, onderdeel van de Fiat groep, een samenwerkingsverband zijn aangegaan. Over enige tijd zal de productie van de Santana PS 10 Commercial in een licht gewijzigde vorm worden voortgezet onder de naam Iveco. Importeur Santana Nederland heeft nog enkele modellen van de stoere 4x4 in voorraad en biedt deze nu tegen een uiterst scherpe prijs aan. |
