The Toyota IQ Font.

The creation of a new font, the IQ Agility - using a Toyota IQ. The creation of a new font - using a Toyota IQ Be of no doubt that the Toyota IQ is a landmark automobile. It may look like another city car, but it's the first genuine luxury super compact and the recently announced relationship with Aston Martin to create bespoke interiors for the vehicle is just the start of a massive push by the world's biggest automobile manufacturer to recalibrate public consciousness on the magnitude of luxury motoring. The creation of the IQ Agility computer font is another step in that process, and a devilishly clever one at that. Watch the video of how it was done and admire the work, not to mention be astonished that the IQ writes better than most humans. More.

Tuesday.

Some small errands in town.
We take the Biscuter, not designed by André Lefèbvre,
who created the 2CV, but vaguely looks like it.
The whole story.

1100 glorious remembrances come back. Seeing this dilapidated Fiat 1100, I hear the sporty exhaust, and the chirping tires of my uncle's sparkling dark green Millecento on the cobblestones in the first turn that I make into the main street of little Belgian village Scherpenheuvel, straight down the hill with the grand basilica on top, with the small houses built in circles around it. In the years before I had enjoyed driving up the hill in the open two-tone green Auto Union with the Horch body and DKW badge. The nicely sober designed compact package delivered more than it promised. The acceleration, accompanied by the catching tailpipe sound that we loved hearing through the winded down window, and road contact and holding, was a new experience in such a modest automobile. The next year it was no surprise to see the Millecento being very successful in the last part of the Tulip Rally, the race on the circuit of Zandvoort. I already had felt myself that it had the potential.

Something warm just in case.
Guy

When someone behind you starts to sing
George Formby's "When I am cleaning windows,"
there's a great chance it's your grandpa.
Guy

Leisurely driving across the market.
Guy

"Always had an inclination to travel lightly."

Monday. New week, clean slate.

Took a walk this evening, and passed a derelict, heavily graffitied
night club on the waterfront. If Providence, with the Rhode Island School of Design
didn't have frequent artistic expressions of strange sorts,
I'd say that Steve Jobs had taken up grafitti.

My Promised Land

In the Spring of 2002 Roger Sparks was traveling
with a virgin agenda when he landed
in America on the off chance, so it seemed at first.
But he had a plan, to meet Dr. Robert Ballard,
the discoverer of the Titanic.
