"What's the title of the movie if you can't name the actor?"

"A virtual pole."

"Just give it a try!"

"See, no need for a tandem."

"We didn't dig that for the artist, just wait and see."

Shining maze, seems quite finished.

At the beginning of the Apollolaan we see a long standing statue.
A hundred yards further down a monument for ArtZuid.

The tree had an imposing stature.
A virtually tall story.

The ArtZuid exhibition 2011 won't be organized in a few days,
but will be opened on May 26,
today the organisation seems to be well under way.

ARTZUID 2011 will take place between 26 May to 28 August 2011. The opening ceremony will be organized on the morning of 26 of May in front of the Hilton Hotel at the Apollolaan in Amsterdam. Once again, the stately avenues of Berlage, Apollolaan and Minervalaan will become the unique setting for fifty sculptures by internationally renowned artists. The sculptures will be displayed against a backdrop of the exceptional architecture of the Amsterdam School. The route is being extended to include the financial business district Zuidas.

Renault Alpine A106
- automotive little race icon, as seen in front of Autopassion in Haarlem. Using Renault 4CVs, Rédélé gained class wins in a number of major events, including the Mille Miglia and Coupe des Alpes. As his experience with the little 4CV built up, he incorporated many modifications, including for example, special 5 speed gear boxes replacing the original 3 speed unit. To provide a lighter car he built a number of special versions with lightweight aluminium bodies: he drove in these at Le Mans and Sebring with some success in the early 1950s. Breitling ‘Jetman’ makes history at Grand Canyon.

Grand Canyon West, Arizona (May 10, 2011) - It was his date with destiny, and ultimately the uniquely complex certification process could not prevent Yves "Jetman" Rossy from making his historic flight through Grand Canyon West this past weekend.
Flying his jet-propelled wing attached to his back, and steering only by movement of his body, Rossy launched from a helicopter at 8,000 feet into the breathtaking blue of the Grand Canyon sky. Skimming the rockscape at speeds of up to 190 mph, Jetman sustained flight for more than eight minutes, 200 feet above the rim of Grand Canyon West. To end the flawless precision flight, Rossy deployed his parachute and gracefully descended to the canyon floor.

Before the trees leaf out in the Vermont woods, the wild flowers have a chance to flourish.
On Monday, we took a walk in the still leafless woods down the street
from Ben's house. Wildflowers abounded. This is one of many fields of Trillium.
They'll be gone in a week. Lewis

The highly exclusive Jaguar XJ Coupé was launched in 1973, but was not sold until the 1975 model year, due to problems reducing the noise from the pillarless windows. It was in production until November 1977, with some of the later models being sold as model year 1978. Since May 10 2011 this model was introduced for sale as a scale model, 1:18, by NeoScale Model at Autopassion in Haarlem. More photos.

Rens Biesma > Fantastic model!

Lorenzo Marchesini > Extremely nice model (including the welding points in the wheel arches, so it seems)!

Some last tinkering and it will run for sure.

This is like how Pierre Boulanger had foreseen life with the 2CV
and how we’ve dreamed ourselves of our life in the country, a permanent holiday.
For the photo we should have swapped the
Champaign for a basket with eggs
.

Imagine, the gathered wisdom, the exchanged experiences, the jokes, the plans, the ambitions, and the health problems, the pessimism and the optimism, the smiles and the hidden grins. It was the life as we’ve lived it on a high shelf. We did the dishes and had an utterly good night’s sleep. Aernoud W.

Central Park South by Joseph O. Holmes. Can you have a crush on a city? Every now and then I can't help myself. I lower my guard and let New York City overwhelm my skeptical photographer's eye, my cautious intellectual side, and I end up with an unabashedly romantic take on the town that has been my home for twenty-six years.
Alec Soth recently said that photography is invariably linked with nostalgia, and surely shooting these gorgeous New York City streets can too easily tip into a maudlin reverie on the city's past. But when the summer sun is low and the streets are wet and the clouds are snagged by tall, tall buildings, I trust my heart and I wrap myself around these streets like I'm in love, even when I know this town is going to break my heart right around the next corner. Great prints are for sale!

Mille Miglia Revisited: Classic Saabs Pay Homage to Historic Success.

My own experiences with Saab.

A dream by General Motors from the seventies
the Corvette Aerovette.

When one has chosen to live daringly in Russia there's now this option
of moving about in a heavily armoured car that looks like a
fourwheel driven Lamborghini LM002, but is totally up to date, also speedwise:
the Dartz Prombron Diamond.

It really pays to carry scissors up your sleeve.

Also back to school.

Kinky green for hairdo shop kinki, which is new on the block.

"Green any sec."

Patrol in a Porsche Cayenne?

Not a Porsche, but an armoured VW Touareg. Martijn.

Just joking. Arie
