EV maker Th!nk Global AS has left bankruptcy protection with a new owner and a new name, Electric Mobility Solutions (EBS). Th!nk was purchased by Russian entrepreneur Boris G. Zingarevich whose company is based in St. Petersburg. The Th!nk American and Th!nk UK divisions, who contined doing business during the reorganization, have also been acquired as part of the overall purchase. Battery-maker Ener1 and assembler Valmet will take stakes in the new company in exchange for some of their Th!nk debt. More.

Ford Start concept debuts in Beijing. Ford is showing its latest concept, the Start, at the Beijing Motor Show. The Start is a Mini-sized minicar that features an Ecoboost 1.0-liter three cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The concept features an underbody tray for improved aerodynamics and a removable roof that snaps out for a quick exchange. The interior features MyFord tech and a clean design.. With the increased number of citycars popping up, let's hope that Ford gives this one some serious consideration. It certainly wouldn't get lost in the crowd.

Hey taxi! Volkswagen used a trade show in Hanover to debut its latest concept, the Milano Taxi. Finished in Milan's requisite green and black taxi colors, the Milano Taxi concept features electric power (up to 186 miles between charges), 60/40 split rear doors, passenger and driver LCD displays, glass roof panels (for better sightseeing), and interior comfort for two riders. The Milano Taxi utilizes VW's UP! minicar platform and showcases unique interior packaging for the taxi of the (near?) future. This EV taxi is just one more application that proves that emissions-free vehicles of all types are here to stay. This is very clever. Note that the sliding door is the only one on the right side (see jump pic). White walls? Not so much. More.

It was you, the talks we had, the atmosphere of the house and the surroundings,
the terrace, the Cahors wine, our cars, the views and the food and the sleep.
And I say, and you may quote me, no more faraway posh commercial resorts for us!
