Week 32 2011, from August 8th.

"My Black Eagle Bike lets me fly through traffic."

"Can you tell me the way to Albert Cuup?"

"Really!"

In the afternoon the sun broke through the thick pack of clouds.

"We took an extra mortgage."

As gold prices
are sky rocketing I prefer to stay with
my feet on the ground.

Often seen this Zoomer, and today the owner.

Stay focussed just a centimeter above the floor.

Silently like a fallen leaf.

Like in this manner, not so heavy footed.

It's just technique.

Light.

Only but barely touching the ground.

From time to time a windshield washer sprayed on the whole scene.

The party was a success.

Sunday.
Zoomer zooms swiftly through the city.

Looking for photos of the new Citroën DS5 I came across this spectacular automobile,
that according to the title of the photo must have been the Citroën C Sportlounge Concept of 2005.
Well, don't you think this car looks more promising?

Rain didn't stop the shoppers.

A clown on the sidewalk.

Flower power for those who stayed at home.

All tidy and open for business.

Sandra and Pieter are on holiday in the South.

Saturday.
Nobody's shopping, but she'll on time to open the door.

Note the camera in the staircase.
Guy

"We'd better wait till the evening, when most of the rubbish has been dropped."
Guy

Quickly to the beach.

Wijk aan Zee.

Friday.
Salty day in Wijk aan Zee.

A slowly swaying light beam in the dark night sky over the Zuidas last night, was for me an odd but magical form of laser technology, a tool to seize attention for an event, like I had seen huge balloons in the commercial outback of New Jersey, hanging above a grand opening of a new shop in a suburb mall. For my father it will have meant the light was searching for English bombers on their way to destroy the Junkers airplane factory near Leipzig, and more. But what was the light over the Zuidas searching for? Will the people using this beam have ever heard of Albert Speer, the top nazi who designed the virtual pillars for the Cathedral of Light at the Nazi Party Congress Grounds?

Bugatti Type 57 C Voll & Ruhrbeck Cabriolet. Up until 1934 there was a separate Bugatti model for almost every body type. To cut costs Ettore Bugatti decided to design one chassis that would be available with various body styles. Most of them were to be designed and constructed in the Bugatti factory. In charge of the new model's design team was Ettore's son, Jean Bugatti. He was just 23 years of age when the 'Type 57' project started in 1932. Extremely expensive models like the Type 41 Royale and the Type 50 had not been a success. With that kept in mind Jean Bugatti designed a much smaller engine for the Type 57 than found in the Type 50 it replaced. The prototype engine displaced 2.8 litres, which was almost half that of Type 50's. The new engine was equipped with double overhead camshafts, similar in construction to those found on the Type 50 and Type 59 racer. The production engine displaced just under 3.3 litres and produced 135 bhp in Naturally Aspirated form. More in Ultimate Carpage.

This refined and magnificent Bugatti 57, with a special body created in 1939
by Voll & Ruhrbeck made a flash visit to Autopassion in Haarlem, until coming Saturday.
If you wanna have a peek you gotta be quick!

Doors and windows are disappearing behind the foliage in the Gerrit van der Veenstraat.

"Consult TomTom it says."

Tongue in cheek mostly.

The gate she meant.

She was surprised when she found out she could fly.

Huh!

All quiet.

Thursday.
Dogs nowadays don't pull the cart.

The Time Is Now.
Evelien proudly showed the Manometro from Giuliano Mazzuoli, and QP’s Freek told us what we were looking at, more than we’d ever be able to see. The Manometro was designed and handcrafted in Italy with the most proven Swiss technology ETA automatic movement, Mazzuoli’s Manometro is true to every characteristic of the object that has inspired its creation: it’s sturdy cylindric stainless steel case, 45.2 mm diameter and a 14.8 mm thickness, with large dimensions crown positioned at two o’clock, and a dial featuring essential design and perfect legibility. Nothing superfluous. Only the precision, robustness and functionality are faithful to it’s original inspiration, said QP's Freek.

Going down, going down!
All exchanges plunged further down in red.
To stay alert the staff regularly takes a gulp of coffee from NYSE beakers.

Not in an affluent area in a well-to-do city in France, but AMS!

There still are some Paper TomToms about.

Space enough.

"Say Geese!"

"We believe in growth and no paper rules."

You should have seen us boys run around with the Breiling planes,
in front of the QP shop, reenacting the Red Bull Air Race.

Laced up for speed.

"Since I started running I'm back home earlier."

"The next time I bring my kid."

"Who gave you the idea to drive into the park?"

"Yes alone by my own."

"We can't go on meeting like this. I even don't have a bike."

Wednesday.
Not warm enough to sit on the back of the Zoomer.
Guy

"I say, who's keeping track of the numbers?"

Not a bit tatty?

It's not the destination that counts, but the way you reach it.

"Urban Eyewear, oh that's a good idea, to have my eyes checked
since I seem to see automobiles so much smaller."

"Another word for writer's block, beginning with a C, 5 letters."
Guy

Triptrip.

"Do you also have a gnome view on that Pad?"

Remember these cute carts
in which the Monkeys darted

Lockheed Martin’s SMSS autonomous vehicle headed for Afghanistan. As a result of winning the Project Workhorse Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) competition sponsored by the U.S. Army, four Lockheed Martin Squad Mission Support System (SMSS) vehicles will be sent to Afghanistan as part of a three-month Military Utility Assessment (MUA). The 11-foot-long (3.3 m) SMSS, which can carry more than half-a-ton of a squad’s equipment on rugged terrain, will be the largest autonomous ground vehicle ever to be deployed with infantry.
