REPORT #4 is uit! Het Report van Theo Niekus verschijnt, mooi gedrukt, eens in de acht maanden, in een gelimiteerde oplage van 500, in deze benarde tijden een dapper initiatief. Straatfotograaf Niekus kreeg bij het grote publiek nogal wat aandacht in de pers doordat hij door de politie op domme gronden werd dwars gezeten, maar trotseerde deze moeilijkheden en ging door met het fotograferen van Amsterdamse straatbeelden, vooral op het Damrak en de Dam. Het Report 19x26,5 cm. De prijs voor 48 vitale, aparte uit het leven geknipte full colour mensenfoto’s is lang niet gek: voor abonnees €12,82 inclusief portikosten. Electric DeLorean DMC-12. Revived DeLorean Motor Company announces all electric version of the DMC-12. The DeLorean DMC-12 is going back to the future with a fully-electric powertrain. The original DeLorean DMC-12 began production in 1986 but didn’t quite live up to expectations thanks to lacklustre performance from its 148bhp V6 engine. This new version, though, is aiming to change all that with a 200bhp electric motor that should be good enough for a 0-60mph time of 4.9 seconds. It’s built by the Texas-based DeLorean Motor Company and should be on the road by 2013. It was first displayed publicly at the international DeLorean Owners Event in Houston, Texas, featuring a new interior with an iPhone dock and bespoke steering wheel. The company revealed that the batteries add around 90kgs to the already hefty kerbweight and they’ve been positioned to give the car a 35/65 weight-distribution. This new fully-electric DMC-12 is made up of around 80 per cent original parts but the suspension has been up-rated for improved performance. As yet there is no official price-tag for the DMC-12 but expect further details nearer the release date.

Trains V Cars: “Hell on Earth, This is Hell on Earth.” Picture the scene, you’ve just been at work for 8 hours, you’re tired, you’ve run to the train station and 4 very rude ignorant imbeciles have barged in front of you. You’re exhausted, it’s Friday night and the girlfriend you haven’t seen for over two weeks is waiting at home for you. There is a train in 10 minutes, and you’re on the right platform ready to go. What could possibly go wrong? Well if you’re stood on any platform at Birmingham New Street – every-last-bloody-thing imaginable. Asking one of the platform attendants if this is the right platform, he replies somewhat informally, “Yes, but the train here isn’t the right one. The right one will pull in, in just a second”. Fine. You sit down, and start waiting.
