![]() The Costin AutoV. This unique car designed for aerodynamic fuel economy by Frank Costin in the early sixties, was made from alloy moulds created by W&P in 1962 to Costin's order. After the prototype was made it never made it into full production, although the moulds (as well as the car) survive. The car will be added to the website shortly following receipt of further material from its owner, Friend Wood. http://www.williamsandpritchardregister.co.uk/news.htm |

![]() "It's an Austin indeed!" 'The Brooklands Tradition' has become a regular event during which several outstanding automobiles will be auctioned by BCA. For their next sale at the Brooklands Museum some very nice cars have already been consigned. Take for instance this 1919 Austin Twenty, the oldest running Twenty known to the Vintage Austin Register. It was originally exported to Australia, bodied as a Tourer and used as a demonstrator for Lane's Motor Pty in Melbourne. The remains of the car were re-imported to the UK around 1990. An extensive mechanical restoration was undertaken and the current replica dual-cowl 4 seat sports body fitted. It has full weather equipment and an Auster screen for the rear compartment. In 2002 an overdrive was fitted which makes for more relaxed long-distance touring. The Twenty has been used for many events, including continental trips, cruising happily at 45-50 mph. This year's Brooklands Tradition will be held on Thursday 5th June. If you wish, it's still possible to enter your car at BCA . |
