Interesting. The guys on the TV program Mythbusters took a look at obscured license plates with a camera manufacturer. They tried several methods - gray smokey plastic cover, orange reflective cover, and smeared muddy water. Close up, a policeman could read the number, but at a distance, to the naked eye, they were all hard to read. The camera accurately read them ALL. And the methods were all illegal in many US states. The only thing that got by the camera - with a completely unobscured plate - was a Lamborghini Diablo at about 180 mph. Lewis
